2D Character Animation

This project is for the MCCA’s digital design team demo. I animated all assets.

 

3D & 2D Mixed Media Animation

This project is for the MCCA’s digital design team demo. I lit, textured, and rendered the 3D shoe model and animated all assets.

 

2D Animation

A PSA for the MCCA about Summer Safety. I animated three scenes and lead the design team in the overall creation of the video.

An infographic about the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. I lead production and animated two scenes.

 

One of 11 pieces of content for The Dimock Center’s annual “Steppin’ Out” event. I storyboarded and animated several pieces, and directed animation for content created by other team members.

A piece for CheckAlt, a company participating in the AFP 2019 upcoming event. I directed and storyboarded the piece, animated several icons, and used Trapcode Particular to animate the accent content on the sides of the display.

 

2D Speed Animation

 

A quick alpaca animation (under 1 hour). Part of a creative exercise for my design team. Used Rubberhose for the legs. Need to go back and fix up that front leg a bit!

 
 

3D (Fan) Character: Jon Snow

A portrait of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. Still have a lot of work to do on the garments (created in Marvelous Designer), the props (created in Zbrush), the Vray hair/fur, and the expression. I also have to attach the clothes to the existing rig and paint weights; for the shot shown here, I used Marvelous Designer’s wind features and two mesh poses to simulate cloth deformation on the body.

Had fun messing with Allegorithmic Substance’s ‘Alchemist’ app for the metal and leather textures! I’m planning on pushing the materials more by tweaking the maps and working with Vray.

The body pose is a result of applying motion capture data from the Mixamo library. I plan on tweaking the silhouette to get a more dynamic result.

 

3D Fan Character: Lance

An in-progress portrait of Lance from Dreamworks Voltron: Legendary Defender. Went through several lighting revisions in Maya (with Vray) before picking this setup. Still have some work to do on the skin texture, eye detail, expression, and posing. Armor was a brief 20 min job in Zbrush, so I’d also like to go back to add some polish & detail there as well.

 

Ongoing: CC0 Asset Library

Part of an ongoing personal project cleaning up, retopologizing, and often completely remodeling public domain 3D models. I have over 150 clean, low-poly meshes so far. Next step will be building my library of PBR materials in substance. I love building environments, and I’m hoping these models can serve as a modular tool for my adventures in game engines like UE4 and Unity.

 

Branding & Design: Wellanova (Labels, logo, and 3D Renders)

Helping a family member launch a skincare brand. Designed and created product images, logos, renders, and all other branding imagery. Still working with the smaller containers and finding a good way to brand them.

Brand was previously called “CBP” and “CABP” for as an acronym for California Botanical Products.
